The Day after Thanksgiving

Yesterday was a wonderful day as we spent Thanksgiving at home.  Carmen and the Pease Family came over.  We all had a great time sharing together.  Too bad the Cowboys stomped our Seahawks.

Today I decided not to go out in the wee hours of the morning to shop for great bargains, because what I wanted to get the kids for Christmas, was the same price pretty much at every store and every store had the same deal on line.  So I took care of it online, the only drawback was, what should have taken 10 minutes (15 tops) to order online took 2 1/2 hours to finalize due to things beyond our control.  The good news is, it is done.  We did go to Target and Walmart in the late late morning.  Neither store was crowded, there seemed to be plenty of all of the specials that were advertised (although we only went to buy cheap DVDS and found the ones we wanted), but I was glad to see polite shoppers through out both stores and enough of everything that people didn't seem to have an urge to push and shove.

Tonight we went to the Kettle Kick Off for the San Diego Kroc Corps.  It was a really nice event and it was fun to be there again this year.

It is late and my eyes are tired.  Have a good week!

Today I went with Rebekah  and her class to Oma's pumpkin patch.  I had all of the 5 girls from her class in my car.  The Wicked sound track was blasting there and back.  The girl in the passenger seat, (not Rebekah)  was a very nice sweet girl, but beyond loud as she was talking.  By the time the day was over my right ear was hurting.  Too funny.  There was a hay maze, a hay pyramid, a cotton seed mountain for sledding, a hay ride, a game area, a petting zoo, and of course pumpkins.  We also got to see a baby calf that was born just a half an hour before. (very cool).  It was very hot out, but it was still fun.  It is amazing how filthy dirty one can get at a pumpkin patch.

Tonight I took Rebekah to the corps for her art class.  After it was over we went to a drive thru to pick up dinner for the family.  Just as I started to order my phone rang.  It was Renee our youth pastor saying I left my purse at the corps.  So we cancelled our order, drove back to the corps, got my purse, went back to Mc D's got the food and met Mike and the boys at home.  So silly.  Thankfully she called about my purse before I pulled up to the window and then discovered I had no money, agian so so silly of me.  :)

Now I am watching the boys play Wii baseball.  When we got home awhile ago Mike, David & Joshua were all playing golf.  The Wii is such a fun family game.

This weekend we go to Murrieta and then to San Bernardino, with a birthday party somewhere in the mix.

Have a good weekend everyone.  Deryn (capguac), in case you read this know that we love you and miss you.  (especially Rebekah...well all of us really!)  :)

We are getting ready for Officer's Councils.  We leave in the morning for Big Bear.

The kids are all doing well, just growing way too fast.

Have a great week everyone!

This week David started High School.  He really likes it.  His favorite classes are Spanish and Technology. Hard to believe he is a freshman.  This weekend he went with the corps cadets to San Bernardino for a missions trip.  They did the Cosmic City Day VBS for homeless children.  He got home just a little while ago and had a really good experience.

Joshua and Rebekah start school on Wednesday.  Joshua will be in 6th and Rebekah in 4th.

Next week we are going to Angel & Marcos' wedding, then to the Riverside corps on Sunday morning, then to Murrieta in the afternoon for Ryan Boyd's baby shower.

Have a good week everyone!

So I am on vacation with my wonderful family.  We are nearing the end.  Today we arrived in Modesto.  It was a spur of the moment thing.  We are excited to be here.  The kids are so excited to see their friends from school and the neighborhood.  Tonight the kids went swimming at the hotel and our good friends Matt and Dan came over.  Now we are all sitting in our room waiting for Michael Phelps to swim in 9 minutes.  We are also watching on my computer the amazing A/V creations of Sunday announcements by Matt and Dan.  We are just rolling laughing, they are so funny.  Only 8 minutes to Michael...better go.
